About Us

The International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences (IAAS) brings together students around the world who share similar dreams and ideals in agricultural and related sciences. With committees in 50 countries and more than 10.000 members, IAAS is the largest international student association in its field.

Our activities give students the opportunity to learn and experience agriculture on an international level. We also offer students a platform for exchange of experiences, knowledge and ideas among each other. IAAS is a place where students can meet their future colleagues and prepare to become the agricultural leaders of 2050.

IAAS WORLD is the mother, we have IAAS in many countries (national) e.g. IAAS NIGERIA, IAAS INDONESIA, IAAS GERMANY, IAAS LIBERIA etc and we have IAAS in different universities (local) eg IAAS UI, IAAS BUK, IAAS OAU.

Who we are

IAAS was founded in 1957 and started with only 8 member countries. It grew to the organization it is nowadays, with 50 member countries and about 10.000 students as members. IAAS OAU was founded in 2016.

The aims and objectives of IAAS have been defined by the founding of the General Assembly back in 1957. Our most prominent objectives are:

1.  Encouraging the interchange of ideas in all fields of education and practices in Agricultural and Related Sciences
2.  Promoting the co-operation and understanding between students of Agricultural and Related Sciences from all over the world.
3.  Preparing students to fulfill the challenges of their future work with a practical and global view.
4.  Encouraging the formation and development of local organizations of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences.

Vision

To promote the Exchange of Experience, Knowledge and Ideas and to improve the mutual Understanding between Students in the field of Agricultural and Related Sciences in Nigeria and all over the World.

Mission

Encouraging the interchange of ideas in all fields of education and practices in Agricultural and Related Sciences and Promoting the co-operation and understanding between students of Agricultural and Related Sciences in Nigeria and all over the world.
